Any Mac users?

I've had it with my comp.. I'm mainly a console player, and mostly work on my comp with graphics and art. Therefore I'm contemplating buying the new 27" iMac. Been watching a couple of vids with crossover and tf2 and it looks ok. Anybody here working with that config? I'd hate to lose my TF2.. but I also hate all the crap that comes with owning a pc

i myself have the imac.
as a matter of fact, if you are willing to shell out 40 extra dollars, then you can puchase crossover games, which will allow yo to run all windows games on you mac computer.

in my opinion, it runs almost better on mac than PC!

I can't imagine it would be "almost better" than on PC though, considering you wouldn't be running with Direct3D. For gaming, My guess is you'd be better off going with Boot Camp and chucking Windows on there too.

Thx to the both of you.. but I really really really don't wan't to turn this into a Mac vs. PC issue. So I'll just stop it here But yeah actually I'm sitting between bootcamp and crossover right now. Leaning towards crossover, though, because it's just one app. and I don't have to buy a windows license.

If your considering a Mac OS for your next PC, consider Linux (any one of the many variants of it, I recommend Ubuntu for starters). It's good for those who are sick of the problems that come with Windows, but don't want to shell out all the extra cash buying a Mac. It's free to download, and works just fine on PC's made for Windows. It has some of the same drawbacks that using a Mac does (needing special versions of software or emulation software to run programs designed for Windows) but the cost difference (free versus expensive) is quite contrasting.

I'm not one of those die-hard Windows users (it has it's ups and downs), but I'm not a huge Mac fan. My beef with Mac simply lies in their overpriced systems and software, use of proprietary hardware, and claims which they don't quite live up to. The Mac vs PC commercials (funny though they are) is pretty much all that's keeping them in business at the moment.

Good luck choosing though, and whatever you decide in the end is your choice of course. I just recommend you keep the idea in mind of comparing 'apples to apples' (so to speak, not a Mac pun) by which I mean you should make sure you're getting your money's worth.
