I found a good Spy rotation which worked perfectly; at least in this instance. As the round began, I cloaked (I was using the standard Invisibility Watch) and took the upper right path toward the enemy base (the one which leads to their upper spawn door). There's a handy ammo box along that path which helped alot. Anyway, I would go along that path cloaked until I was up against the spawn building, drop down to the lower section and then uncloak. From here, I proceeded to backstab anyone and everyone trying to exit the spawn, push the cart or whatever. After I was done with my rampage, I would head back to safety by taking that lower path which leads up to the back area, then repeat the whole process over again. First two times I did this I got four and then three backstabs and survived. Third time was a bit less successful, but I still tied my backstab record in a single life (eight) and ended up in first place for the round. It was the only time I've ever seen the attackers not make it past the first point on round one of Hoodoo. By memory, I believe I ended up with forty-two points by the end of that round. I basically prevented them from ever getting more than twenty feet outside of their spawn doors. I felt powerful. I bet they hated me. 8)

they must have been a terrible team though if they didnt just send a couple pyros out to roast you

Part of what made the strategy work was that I was generally only vulnerable to Pyro spam for a couple seconds right before I made my attacks. By which I mean, I didn't stick around in enemy territory any longer than necessary, and essentially ended up running a big loop a few times over never stopping for more than a couple seconds. I would just keep repeating the process of cloaking around a safe corner (in friendly territory), running along the high right side path to their spawn (picking up ammo on the way), drop down and uncloak, then backstab any enemies between myself and where I started at. If I got spotted and pursued, I had a couple successful bits of trickery making them think I took one path when I didn't. But for the most part I was moving quickly enough and retreated behind the safety of teammates after each run.

But yeah, I was pretty lucky there. If they watched their backs better when on the cart and coming out of spawn I wouldn't have been as successful.

Another good thing that happened to me was on koth nucleus. I was playing pyro, and, as usual, I rushed for the sniper battlements. What did I find? Two engineers building a dispenser and a tele, with a sentry on the way. I roasted the sentry, tele, dispenser, AND one of the engineers before running away from their reinforcements. I also love that map because you can make the best flanking attacks. Nothing more satisfying than playing spy and backstabbing a sniper who was looking in the other direction for you. :D

I found it time for DM_Store, a map I preferred as scout, but... found out it has a good use for the old axtinguisher.

Ever heard about the tactic to ignite an enemy, then airblast them against a wall all helplessly and that, and then axtinguish-crit them down?

Well I did, and I masterfully re-enacted it... Dm store has corners everywhere, it's possible pretty much anywhere to ignite>airblast>axe. Also on any class, did it on everyone I met. about 2/3rd of my kills were axed, and that with a 5:1 K:D ratio in the end.
Same round, got ubered and ran into a couple of soldiers and their medic standing all three real close together, so I blew them all up against a ledge, then lucky-reflected a critrocket, and got off 3 reflectkills at once. the best part here, the soldier that fired the rocket was my brother.
still the same round, a soldier jumps me with the rocketjump, fires a rocket down at me and I manage to reflect it, airshotted the rocketjumping soldier with it. I suspect him of ragequitting since he left directly after being gibbed in midair by his own rocket. (this is either super lucky, or I am getting good with it... it happened twice now.)

Well that's it with the pyro for the last week or so. It's been good fun reflect-killing and airblast-axtinguishing.

Indeed I have ;)

Sounds like an awesome session though :P Even a normal crit reflection is sweet enough, a triple is just godly.

yesterday, i was playing on a custom payload map.
i was an engineer. during setup me and another engie set up my lvl 3 gun. they almost capped point a, but then they ran into me.i held them at the first point basically solo for 3 minutes. at the end of it all, i had 18 sentry kills, 3 dominations, and 30 teleports. i had people screaming on their mikes. at the end of the match, one round, i had 130 or so points. MVP.

Nice work roflnife!
Getting on the MVP box as an engineer is a feat! I think I've only managed it once.

Just remembered a favourite moment.
I was playing as a medic. Some guy starts spouting off how I'm crap as a medic. Then another player asked him how if I'm so crap I was ranked second on the team listing just on kill assists.
It shut him up and he didn't get any more healing from me that round. ;)

Had something really cool happen to me a few weeks ago, probably not the best thing, but pretty cool nonetheless.
Playing arena as Heavy, on Granary. I ran straight to the left side, quite foolishly, without a medic either, ahead of all my team (except a couple of scouts that went right).
As soon as I get to the containers on the left side, it was obvious that the other team was more organized.
A heavy, medic, demoman, soldier and scout were all charging in a group through the left side. I already had Sasha revved up (I revved it up as I jumped around the corner), and started blasting away. The scout was charging straight at me, probably confident because of his team behind him, and a quick spray of bullets killed him. I get the first blood crit buff, and begin spray the entire group. I killed them all.
That was pretty lucky, but still awesome.

(also, unrelated, but I found a hat yesterday! Finally! One for the demoman, can't remember the name.)

Here's a moment before my TF2 screwed up ever since:
I was rolling demoman, back at the beginning of 2009. In 2FORT, I stayed at the courtyard, laying stickies around the doorframes of the two entrances. Boom. Shoot. Boom. Shoot. I had a killstreak of 18 doing that... and the other team got so annoyed they triple-heavy rushed me, killing me. :(

was playing with some friends when a kritz heavy came after us. I quickly ubered and spread the uber out among three people, who quickly killed the heavy. The best part was that two of the three had about 15 health, so I had to time everything just right to make sure they didn't die. I was yelling "HOW YOU LIKE IT??" into comms for about 30 seconds after xD

So I play Medgineer.

Seriously though, here's the story:
It's not an individual killing rampage, since I'm not very good at those, but it was epic nonetheless. So here's the setup: My team is defending on stage 2 or three of Gold Rush (the one where it goes across the bridge, turns right and then goes between two tower/battlement things), and we've been rolled pretty convincingly up to this point. I've been playing Medic most of the time, giving out ubers when I could live long enough to get them.
So, it looks like we're going to lose, because BLU has moved the cart up to the point between the aforementioned towers and are launching a coordinated assault. I'm not sure how, but their assault peters out (I don't think their team was Medicked enough) and we are about a human hair away from defeat. Seriously, the cart is on the raised platform at the end but has not been capped yet. I think if they had simply swarmed the cart at that point, we would've lost.
I look at the clock. 8:54

God help us.

I don't know how, but through a combination of teamwork and no spies on their team we somehow hold out. I end up switching to Engineer and setting up a big ol' engineer nest, first on the raised platform to the right and then in the cubby space on the left. The other team begins to get frustrated and it shows. W+M1 Pyros, inept Demomen and poorly used ubers make them madder, which leads to more of the same, which makes them madder, etc.

I wasn't MVP and I didn't go on any killing sprees or anything insane like that, but it was EPIC.

Yeah, sometimes you got those games where you get shoved back through stage 1 AND two within 5 minutes, and through the first few CP's of the third stage...
And then you suddenly hold them off for 20 minutes or something :P

Usually happens in Dustbowl, where stage 3 is just a matter of MANY SG's, and lots of spamomen.. and then the crappy team that got pushed back through 2 and a half stage suddenly holds up by raw spam/splash and sentry-ing.. not to mention being close to their spawn helps alot.

Which also reminded me of the following, it must be getting boring to you guys by now: To Axtinguish the Enemy... (and no it's not a typo)
after not playing for a while I joined some random pub.. went pyro, because I didn't want to grind achievements for soldier nor demo and scout slots were full. So there we was, Turbine CTF.
I don't think I ever had so many axekills in rapid succession ^^ was a massacre.. Ignite and axe-crit-to-the-face... Made my day definately.
Also once we held their flagroom so we could run it three times in a row, the medic ubered me *evil grin* just as several heavies came barging down the stairs from their spawn. God I love those crit-sounds. WHOOOOSH, PING! And another falls.
Serious Pyro is Serious ^^

A new one: On 2Fort, there is an entrance to the intel. The RED team has built a sentry there, so I edged it, together with its engineer. Next to it was a teleporter and a dispenser, so I roasted that aswell as the demoman who just teleported. Then a previously teleported solider came up the stairs, I flamed him, and reflected his Direct Hit rocket, killing him. Another engie just finished upgrading his dispenser to level 3, and just deployed a sentry hoping to kill me, so I just charged at it, destroying the level 3 dispenser, engie and the sentry. Shamefully, a heavy then point-blank minnigunned me in the back. :(

badlands last. I'm the only guy alive, my team spawns in about 6 seconds, and there are three scouts and a medic on the point. I jump down, get three ubersaws on the medic, and pop uber to defend it until my team gets in. I do this not once, but *twice*. Then someone comes in with a heavy medic and tells me that I suck at defending the point :<

Yeah seriously I hate that! like they suck bigtime (or are playing some useless class *sniper cough sniper cough*) and then begin to whine about how you are playing, while you outplay them bigtime.
it's just so annoying. You work your ass off, die every 15 seconds to keep the horde of enemies off the cap while they sit back popping some useless shell or nade at someplace where no enemy is. *rages* That's one of the worst moments of TF2.
