Yay, new poll :)

I see a lot of engy there, which amazes me. They tend to turtle up behind their sentries and not being any help when the frontline moves. Then again, I kinda automatically assumed we're on BLU there :)

I went with the heavy, for two simple reasons:

1) Accuracy does not really matter that much in a war, and, unlike in tf2, even a single bullet from the minigun can be deadly.
2) He's big and slow. Something to hide behind. Something to leave behind as a diversion if it gets too hot. You can tell that I'm playing scout/spy mostly, I guess :P

Well I went with the engy because I'd be a complete coward, and I could just sit on the dispenser and no one would would come near me because of the sentry :P

Assuming I was actually going to be fighting though, I'd probably go with the heavy, for those reasons.

I'd want the pyro by my side during a war. In zombie fortress, in the industry map (without caps) I was a sniper and a pyro came with me to the end of the train tracks. I'd pick off any body at a distance, and the pyro would let me know when people where coming. When zombies came on the train, too fast to snipe, he'd light them all while I pelted them with smg bullets.

Imagine some guy just laying waste to anybody who got near you.

Lmao, if only that could work....

I went with the sniper, as the engi wouldn't be much use if we came under a tank assault (as well as sentries would attract a lot of fire), and if one bullet can kill, the heavy or pyro will be dead before he even hits anyone.

The sniper is usually hiding somewhere in the background picking people off while not attracting bullets, and is professional & experienced enough to know when something's up (i.e. an ambush or when we're losing a battle), thus why I chose him.

Yes, as I said you'll probably be seeing a few TF2/L4D polls in coming weeks. However I'll be interested to see how this one turns out since most classes have pretty even chances of scoring votes, depending on players' preferences.

I voted Scout incidentally, because I reckon he'd be the most awesome to try and survive alongside - "WHAT the HELL is with all these fricken ZOMBIES man?!"

Pyro for me. Because everyone knows that the best way to deal with a lot of zombies is to KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!

Well, soldier would work too, but he has to reload. Though shotgun is nice for bursting heads as well.... plus, the pyro might be mitaken for a zombie himself with his leftclick + run forward tactics :P (no, I'm not really a pyro hater ^^ )

Bottom line, pyro for me. Walking torches are made of awesome with a helping o burning flesh. Mmmmmm.

I'd want the Pyro as well. He'd burn them to the ground!

I would've thought the pyro would be about the worst, perhaps after the spy :P For a few reasons:
  1. (s)he can't communicate so wouldn't be much help in complex situations
  2. if you've read any of the hands-on reviews (such as this new one by the RPS boys), the general consensus seems to be that the only thing worse than a tidal wave of zombies is a tidal wave of burning zombies
  3. it'd be tough finding more fuel and reloading - the only reason you don't run out in TF2 is because you can pick up enemies' guns, which zombies won't have
  4. and perhaps most importantly, firestorms can only attract MORE zombies!

Then again, the compression blast would be pretty fun!

Pyro. He's quick, he's got quite a bit of health, a shotgun and a flamethrower, and he could probably handle a molotov cocktail better then any of the survivors.

Actually, this is how I thought of it. He has a shotgun, one of the primary weapons of L4D, which he'd use the most often. If he get's attacked by himself, he'll have the best chances of killing the zombies, then saving the others with his shotgun.

Well, maybe my vote was influenced by the fact that I think more like Resident Evil or Painkiller than L4D ;)

Pfff... I bet the pyro would find a way to extract fuel from the zombie corpses ;)

That would be awesome, I would have voted for scout, but I get the feeling he'd be the type to run ahead and either rambo/leave the others behind.

I'd vote either pyro or heavy. Except the heavy might turn into a boomer if he gets zombiefied.

Then again, with that minigun, we all know what he'd say to the Witch. "KEEP CRYING BABY!"

Okay! New poll for the new update! That L4D one hang around for ages and ended up with over 500 votes, and it seems Pyro was the resounding winner, probably for his charming wit. Or perhaps otherwise.

I'm interested to see the results of this one, the options of which were basically taken from the Steam News Update. I voted upgradeable teleporters, because I... I think I'm in love with them. FINALLY you don't need 2 or 3 Engineers to carry your team from your spawn to the other side of the map! More importantly, when you DO have 5 or 6 Engineers (as you do), they don't all need to build teleporters (which they don't). A 3 second cooldown is a helluva deal.

Your thoughts!

I've got to agree with pie, the upgraded teles are the best. I love playing offensive engie and this has changed the way I play. Now I set up teles and dispensers first, then sentrgun.
