I have no idea what balloon race is, but honestly a payload race (although it's unlikely to be payloads) sounds incredibly awesome to me. Payload is a great mode, and I admire Valve for thinking of ways to focus the combat in fresh ways.

And I reckon Softskin's Caught Napping suggestion is probably the most accurate of the lot of us.

I tried baloon race some time ago and yeah it was flawed to say the least, but with payloads i can totally see it happen. Do I get some kind of achievement for my accuracy on Caught Napping? :P

I'm not a negative nancy, but when it comes to these unlockables, It's been a bit of a crap shoot... yes the flare gun ended up working out.. but the sandwich and Natasha didn't... well as of late natasha is better but still.... Either way I mean it could be good could be bad, but the mere fact that the bat takes away the one ability from the scout that makes him so volitile, it makes me a bit skeptical.

Today's update... is meh. CP egypt, plus some fixes to Fastlane. *yawn*

EDIT: Disregard that, I suck... You know.

ALso, achievements reveiled, and we can make quite a sure guess on what Force-A-Nature, the new scattergun, will be. A scattergun with knockback, to be exact. Whether it hurts Yourself like a rocket or not, is unclear, but probably not. It helps You jump higher and it can knock back enemies airblast-style as well. Interesting.

Disadvantage? Less damage, I guess, or possibly nocrit again. Though I have a feeling they try to avoid the nocrit clause, as they are aware a lot of people play on nocrit servers ( making, for example, Blutsaugher an ultimative upgrade to the needler ).

This all seems a little strange. Some of this stuff just seems rediculous. Seriously, another food unlock? And from the sounds of the scattergun replacement rocket jumping scouts? And the map choice seems a bit strange. I heard junction is a terribly balanced map, and egypt has different textures and models, which I know they don't want a lot of different stuff like that. (which is why they chose alpine, so they could reuse all their building models). Not to mention a weapon that completely takes control from the player, something said they'd never do in the commentary. (natascha still allows movement and doesn't mess with their vision)

There are a lot of rumors about this really being the spy update in disguise, and I am beginning to believe them.

Oh. My. GOD. Spy update in disguise... I haven't heard that before, and I'll be damned if that wouldn't be the biggest twist ever. I almost hope you're right, just for how awesome it would be, even though I'm liking everything I've seen so far (except maybe Junction, since I hear it's not great with over like 16 people and I always play 24).

The FAN sounds like fun to me, especially when you consider taking the regular bat and using the blast could possibly give you a triple jump somehow. And Egypt looks beautiful, I don't know why some people are saying it doesn't fit with the "TF2 universe", like that's some kind of comprehensively defined abstract.

Oh, and the post's up by the way. I'll have to update the Scout Achievements page now.

Hopefully tomorrow.

Anyway, the scout does not fall asleep, appearently I've heard rumors that he simply slows down to medic speed for a couple seconds and can't double jump when he crashes from the energy drink.

Also, I'll eat my shoe if this is spy update.

Valve usually uses pacific time, and it's 2:15 in the afternoon here in hawaii. I'd imagine it's an hour or two later in cali & washington.

So valve is late. Nothing new XD

However, Steam is going crazy, and the forums are unusable due to the increased traffic. My god, I never imagines the hype would be so huge. Its like blizzard announced D3 XD
