Getting Custom Maps to Work

Having trouble getting TF2 to cooperate? Tell us what's wrong - someone's probably had the same problem, probably.

Getting Custom Maps to Work

Postby Emannikufesin on Tue Dec 01, 2009 3:59 pm

How do you get custom maps to work after you have downloaded them off the internet? When I try to open the file, I get an error that says:

"Setup file 'gameinfo.txt' doesn't exist in subdirectory 'hl2'. Check your -game parameter or VCONFIG setting."

I regret to say that I am not a computer person, so this makes little sense to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No idea, sorry :(

In my experience, the best way to go with Source is to just join a server with the map running and it'll download and do all the work for you.

This might be a bit late but for anyone reading this, a guide can be found here. How about creating one to put in the misc guides section?

Does that come in a tin?
