Contributions

tf2strategy.com sincerely thanks:

In chronological order…

greenwoodDT – Benefactor, creator, original and ex-admin of tf2strategy.com. Saw potential in the scruffy, original class guides in the deepest corner of Freewebs.com and gave them wings. I owe this entire site and project to him. Thank you.

Bishop – The first user to sign up to our forums. A distinctive privilege, to be sure ;)

colonU – The original “Class, Versus” submission in the form of “The Soldier, Versus“. This 1v1 strategy idea was an instant hit, and has taken off since with a succession of other submissions. Big thanks to colonU for sparking such enthusiasm!

shipwreck – One of the more active original forumers, shippy was the first to take colonU’s lead, submitting both “The Scout, Versus” and the interesting “The Medic, Versus“. His contribution certified the “Class, Versus” guides as a community project, and his fostering and future addition is greatly appreciated.

trapped – A fellow HL Fallouter kind enough to support my journey into the larger interwebs, trapped also donated the more tangible “The Pyro, Versus” and “The Engineer, Versus“. trapped has been a great help, and hopefully (eventually) is followed up by more of those crazy HLFians.

Neoviper – A surprise contact from veteran spy Neoviper resulted only a few hours later in the creation and submission of the conceptually more difficult “The Spy, Versus“. Despite the meagre Notepad document being treated to a spellcheck and formatting, the content was largely copy pasta’d and (evidently) of great quality. A fortuitous and valued contribution to TF2S.

Phoenix – Not only another brother from HLF but a fellow Aussie, Phoenix has been a great help in getting those pictures you just don’t see in public servers (demomen bottling heavies, heavies assaulting sentry guns with fists). No doubt many more screenshots will be the fruit of his labour.

BehavyuR – I was contacted out of the blue by BehavyuR, and all of a sudden I had a The Sniper, Versus article ready to roll. A 3,800 word behemoth, The Sniper, Versus took a different track by analysing the sniper’s versus strategy both camping and when on the run. Fortunately it was well enough written that no words needed to be changed (thank Gabe!).

Dartagnan – One day idly looking around over at TF2Fort, I saw a thread entitled Jumping Guide – a long and detailed forum post covering all those tricky, unknown jumps resulting in big shortcuts. I immediately checked who the author was, and it turned out it was Dartagnan who would be so generous as to allow the guide to take up a more permanent residence at TF2S. After a bit of pruning and cropping of pictures, the result was the longest single page on the site, the Jumping Guide, an article that not only taught me the real power of simple jumping, but changed the way I played.

Mune – Emerging from the shadows in late August 2009, Mune provided a rapid-fire succession of unlockable weapon information sections for the painfully empty Sniper and Spy Overviews, and his enthusiasm and loquacity quickly earned him a promotion to the role of Editor. After just a week his contributions number in the double figures, and with plenty more to come!

chipbuster – In a slow-article end-of-2009, chipbuster responded to ruminations about a Beginner’s Guide to TF2 by putting together the Choose Your Class guide, and thus kicked off the Beginner’s Guide in earnest. He soon followed it up with the Game Modes guide, and is keen not to stop there.

DosPassos – Another forum regular, always ready to chat and generally a very friendly person.

Adam – Rallying to the cause after hearing Pie21′s call to arms, whilst not releasing that many guides, he is the organising powerhouse and general PR guy.

Rabbit – An enthuisiastic forum regular who kindly agreed to write up a few guides and has since become the fourth editor on the team.

Spamfest – Who is writing this himself and will look like an narcissist if he says anything positive, he also made the unlocks pages for the Pyro, Demoman and Spy.

TheGooglePlex – He’s the rookie on the team, just joined in early June 2010, he is looking to bring a few more competitive tips and tricks to the site. Stay tuned for more developments with this editor!

And for providing their TF2 videos (alphabetically) – Dr.HeadStriker !, EvilDaedalus, Hellblazer, Kojimea, Nophysicalbody, PanFrie, Pure Pwnage, RandomEngy, and of course Valve. And others.

YOU! – That’s right, even by visiting this page you have contributed in a tiny but meaningful way. It’s the community response that keeps me stuck to this site like putty, and every hit counts. Of course I can’t list every person who visits (they mostly don’t even have usernames to begin with), but any contribution at all will see you engraved in the heart, soul and history of TF2S as long as the internets exist! Whether it be a strategy article, content contribution (check out the TODO list!), or something I haven’t even thought of, I’d love to see your name up here almost as much as you.

Any contributions from any person, anywhere and any time can be fired off to pie21 [at] tf2strategy.com – just click Contact on the left menu. I’ll be happy to consider, discuss and assist any way I can with anything you can think of. Your interest and support means more than you think – even hate mail has it’s own silver lining. And of course you can always hit up the forums to discuss whatever pops into your head with the community as a whole.

We are currently looking for someone who can give us a round up of the competitive news on a regular basis, if you think that you are up to the job please contact pie21 [at] tf2strategy.com

See you round!
